Listening to you is my number one priority so please do my survey and let me know what issues are important to you.

I hope you find lots of useful information about who I am, what I think is important and what I am working on.

Services Connect

Services Connect is designed to connect people with the right support, address the whole range of a person’s or family’s needs, and help people build their capabilities to improve their lives.

This new way of working will make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable Victorians and their families. Over the next few years, Services Connect will transform our processes, upend the traditional welfare model and ultimately encourage independence for the people we assist.

Key elements of Services Connect include:

  • one assessment so that individuals and families only have to tell their story once
  • one key worker who works with people most in need
  • one plan focused on building people’s strengths and capabilities and helping them move towards greater independence
  • different levels of support to meet people’s needs as they change over time.

The Coalition Government committed $12 million in the 1013-14 State Budget to continue to develop and test Services Connect and recently announced a further $17.8 million in the 1014-15 State Budget.

Over the next two months a Services Connect client support team will be established in Box Hill to take on local DHS clients in Manningham, Whitehorse, Boorondara, and Monash.

For more information on Services Connect visit the DHS website here.

Victorian State Budget 2014-15

The Victorian Coalition Government continues to reform and strengthen community services and improve the lives of vulnerable children and families by delivering an additional $198.4 million over four years in the 2014-15 Victorian State Budget.

We will also invest an extra $171 million over the next four years to better support Victorians with a mental illness or drug and alcohol addiction and will invest an additional $204 million to increase support for people with disability and to close another institution to ensure community based accommodation and support for people with disability.
