This morning the Victorian Auditor-General has released a damning report into community health services under the Andrews Labor Government.
The report details that after nearly four years of the Andrews Government, a failure of leadership, lack of oversight and funding inadequacies have compromised basic health care to those who need it most.
The report reveals that Jill Hennessy and her department don’t monitor who accesses community health, they don’t know if services are being delivered to those most in need, they don’t measure outcomes and they don’t know if the price they pay for the services is anything close what they cost to deliver.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Health, Mary Wooldridge:
“Daniel Andrews promised to put people first, but this damning VAGO report shows that was just a lie.
“The Auditor General has shown that Daniel Andrews can’t even get the basics right and his only solution is ordering another taskforce to look into his government’s failings.
“As a result of Labor’s neglect, the Community Health Sector have not been equipped to help relieve the pressure on expanding waiting lists and overcrowded emergency departments by delivering community based care.”
