The Liberal Nationals welcome the official opening this vital hospital for the residents of Bendigo and the Loddon Region.
As a result of the previous Liberal Nationals government the new Bendigo hospital has an Integrated Comprehensive Cancer Centre with 22 treatment chairs, a CT scanner and cutting edge linear accelerator, a 5-bed mother and baby unit, two more operating theatres and 64 additional beds.
These were all areas that local members Jacinta Allen and Maree Edwards, along with then Health Minister Daniel Andrews, argued were unnecessary and not needed for local patients.
The Liberal Nationals are proud to have funded, designed, and built the new Bendigo Hospital, the largest in regional Victoria, which will provide world-class healthcare for residents living in Central Victoria.
It is important to acknowledge all those who have worked so hard to see the fruition of this great hospital.
