Bendigo Health in turmoil under Daniel Andrews' leadership

Deteriorating performance and failing governance have been the hallmark of Bendigo Health over the past year.

The CEO of Bendigo Health, John Mulder today has had his employment contract terminated effectively immediately, following a six month investigation, continuing the uncertainty and turmoil that has plagued the health service.

 

The most recent performance results reveal that compared to the same time last year, the:

            

 

Over the last year the Bendigo Health board has overseen a reckless transition to replace operating theatres’ anaesthetic technicians with anaesthetic nurses, the withdrawal of neonatal surgical services, moving microbiology services from on-site in Bendigo to Melbourne and the botched implementation of the digital medical records, all resulting in a massive decline in staff morale and increased risk to patient safety and quality.
